Towards the middle of the nineties the first walking trips in the Sorrento Peninsula began and several tour operators specialized in this field asked Giovanni, at that time one of the few experts of the trails of the Amalfi Coast and Capri, both for assistance and to guide their groups. Over the following years our group expanded due both to the increased number of tours and to the fact that the groups often required two guides at the same time. Since 2002 we have had an Internet page in Giovanni's website (www.giovis.com) under the name “Giovis & Friends”. Towards the end of 2006, by common consent we decided to create this new autonomous website with the name WHENEVER, acronym of Walk, Hike, Enjoy Nature, EVER, meaning that it's always the right moment to enjoy walks in the countryside. In this new “window”, just as Giovanni did with "his Friends", we decided to host some of our friends who work in the same line of business in the Sorrento Peninsula, on the Amalfi Coast and on Capri. Even though we don't have permanent business relationships, we work together or stand in for one other in an emergency, besides very often crossing paths during our hikes. |
